Dandara Living Partners with Cast Living in support of Bristol Charity, One25

Dandara Living and Cast Living have joined forces to furnish four new homes for One25, which supports marginalised women in Bristol.

Dandara Living and Cast Living have joined forces to furnish four new homes for One25, which supports marginalised women in Bristol.

Established in 1995, to provide essential crisis intervention for vulnerable and marginalised women at risk of being trapped in street sex work, One25 supports women in moving to independence within the community.

Dandara Living is an active supporter of several local charities and community initiatives in Bristol and became aware of the highly specialist work of One25 when we appointed Cast Living to furnish the 295 apartments at our Stafford Yard development in Bedminster Green.

“We were already very familiar with the work being done by Dandara Living in Bristol and further afield and were delighted when they appointed us for their Stafford Yard project as our company values are so closely aligned.

She continues:

Our commitment to quality and innovation is matched by our dedication to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. For every 100 properties we furnish, we donate the equivalent of a fully furnished flat to a local charity. Through our work at Stafford Yard, this has enabled us to provide One25 with sufficient furniture for four new homes; and it’s incredibly rewarding that through our combined efforts we can help them provide safe, welcoming homes for women who need them most.

Dandara Living further facilitated the donation by providing free, secure storage for the furniture and onward delivery when the new homes are ready for occupation. Commenting on the project, Dandara Living Senior Development Manager Zoe Sharpe said:

“One25 provides amazing outreach, support and a route to safety and independence for some of the most marginalised women in our city. Dandara Living is committed to building and nurturing relationships within the local community, and we were very proud to work with Cast Living in supporting Jenny Riley and the rest of the team at One25 in creating comfortable new homes for their clients.”

All the women One25 work with have experienced trauma and face multiple disadvantages, such as homelessness, poor mental health and addiction as CEO Jenny Riley explains:

It is an incredible feat for a woman to be awarded a home, sometimes after years of homelessness. It is fantastic that they will be able to settle in with lovely furniture, making their new houses, homes. The women we work with are some of the most resilient women – they are survivors – and we are so grateful to Dandara Living and Cast Living for their support.
