Proposals

Our proposals support Bristol City Council’s Frome Gateway vision for a neighbourhood with new homes, better community spaces, improved green spaces, better connections to the river and new job opportunities.

New homes for students

Bristol needs new student homes. The University of Bristol and the University of the West of England educate thousands of students each year and we need to find places for them to live.

Providing proper purpose built and well-managed student accommodation that meets student demand will help free up housing currently used by students and create high-quality, safe and managed places for students to live.

We understand properly integrating students into our communities is important. We’re working with the city’s universities and local communities here and across Bristol to understand how we get this right.

An accessible riverside

We will be opening up access to the banks of the River Frome at the north of our site with a new riverside walkway. This supports the Frome Gateway’s vision to create a riverside walkway along the length of the river, making the riverside accessible to all – benefitting local communities and the environment.

Our proposals support the Frome Gateway’s aspiration to create a new bridge connection over the River Frome as an extension of Eugene Street.

Although Dandara Living doesn’t own all the land needed to build the bridge, our proposals support this planned connection. We will create new outside public space and ground floor spaces for the community where the bridge would land so it can become a new focal point for the community.

New community spaces

We’re working with local communities to explore what some of the spaces at the ground floor of the building could be. At the moment, we think there’ll be a variety of different size spaces to offer a mix of potential uses.

These community spaces will sit alongside the newly opened-up river front and outside spaces and could become homes for local community groups or businesses. If you’ve got any ideas, please let us know .
